Below are a few suggestions to complete the style puzzle of how to wear flare jeans. I’ve given suggestions for a few different occasions.
Business Casual
If you’re wearing flare jeans in a business casual outfit, go with a dark blue or black denim. A blouse or shirt tucked in with a nice belt looks office appropriate. To dress up the outfit a little more, throw a cardigan or blazer over the top. If you choose a white shirt, try a dark color blazer or cardigan like black, burgundy or navy. 
Smart Casual , Chic Casual, or Dressy Casual
For a smart casual, dressy casual or chic casual outfit, try a short sweater to show off the high waist and pair with medium to high heel boots. Or a front tuck top with a nice belt. For the dressiest look, choose dark denim.
Date Night
Of course date night appropriate wear can depend greatly on the specific date. If it’s unknown where you’ll be going or if it’s a typical dinner and/or movie type date, a top that makes you feel pretty or sexy is great. A top that shows a little skin but not too much is perfect. A cold shoulder top tucked into flares makes a nice date night outfit. A one shoulder or off the shoulder top are other great options. A full tuck or a front tuck works with flare jeans. For a date night look, you can choose any color denim from light to dark. But keep in mind dark denim looks dressier than light blue. So if you know you’re going to a dressier type restaurant or club, choose dark denim.
Festive
An embellished or metallic colored top looks great paired with a pair of dark flare jeans for a festive look. An embellished top could be sequins, pearls, crystals or embroidery. To step up the festive part a notch, choose red or a fun color jean instead of the typical blue or black.
Casual and Weekend Wear
If you want to wear flare jeans more casually, you can wear a t-shirt or flannel shirt with a very casual boot like combat boots or cowboy boots. A light or medium color denim will look more casual than a dark denim.
